Linda McCurdy has been an outspoken voice for Black women in Southwestern Ontario all of her life.  She has practiced family and criminal law in Windsor for more than two decades and was named as one of 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women in 2018.  She is a former elite athlete and has been a coach for 30 years applying her abilities as a mentor and teacher to encourage young people to become confident adults in a diverse community.  She operates on the premise that every individual is valued and deserves proper training and or representation. As defence counsel she understands the intricacies of litigation and the importance of the protection of people’s rights under the Constitution. As an advocate for a diverse segment of the population, she is committed to the concept of equal justice and the elimination of discrimination. Her experience in the courtroom and working with individuals involved with law enforcement gives her an important perspective for supporting diversity, equity and inclusion work. She will be providing advice throughout the project with a specific focus on engagement and establishing the mission, vision, values and implementation plan.
